RAM stands for Random Access Memory. It is primary memory. It is temporary memory used to store data for specific period of time. It is computer short term memory. None of your files or process runs without RAM. All data that processors need for execution are load in the RAM. All data wipes out when computer turns off. RAM is faster than all secondary storages. SRAM (Static Random Access Memory) and DRAM (Dynamic Random Access Memory) are two types of RAM.
